Drugs Don't Work

Awareness and prevention of drug use in the workplace is the focus of the Drugs Don't Work program. By becoming a certified Drug Free Workplace, companies can receive a 7 1/2 % reduction in their Worker's Compensation Insurance Premium.

There are five key steps to becoming a certified Drug Free Workplace:

  1. Company must have a substance abuse policy
  2. Must perform drug testing
  3. Provide two hours of employee education per year
  4. Provide two hours of supervisor training per year
  5. Must either have an Employee Assistance Program, or a referral list of treatment and counseling centers in your area

The Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, can assist companies wanting to become certified Drug Free Workplaces.
