  1. A business and a specific school may independently meet and develop a partnership idea that will work well for both parties. To formalize the agreement, the business should then call or contact the Chamber office so a partnership certificate can be sent to both parties, acknowledging them as Partners in Education. At the end of the school year, partnership commitments should be jointly reviewed, and reaffirmed or reassigned for the following year.
  2. A school can express a particular need or idea to the Partners in Education school liason at the LaFayette Educational Center (phone 770-460-3990 ext 135 or 111) and ask for help locating a partner; or
  3. A business can fill out a Business Resource Form and indicate the types of contributions or involvement it would be willing to share. When a need arises for their contribution of Time, Talent, or Treasure, the Partners in Education steering committee can help match them with an appropriate school partner.

Participate in the Partners in Education Steering Committee

Volunteering as a part of the Partners in Education Steering Committee is a unique way for Chamber members to make a difference in our community. By helping guide and oversee the Partners in Education program, committee members help the program achieve its mission to prepare the workforce of tomorrow by enhancing the educational opportunities for our students.

The Partners in Education Steering Committee is comprised of individuals representing businesses, community organizations and the Fayette County Board of Education. The group typically meets once a month at the Chamber offices in the Old Courthouse in downtown Fayetteville. To join the steering committee, or for more information on the next meeting date, contact the Chamber office.
