Community Development
The Chamber’s Government Affairs committee invites members to spend a half day at the Georgia State Capitol to observe first-hand the inner workings of the current legislative session. This summit traditionally takes place in February.
The Chamber is proud of its long standing tradition of recognizing and thanking our elected officials for their service to the community. Huie and Bea Bray hosted the"fish fry" at their home for many years. Hundreds of fish later, the Chamber continues to honor our local, state and national leaders by hosting a breakfast every fall to show appreciation for the work they do to keep our community strong and healthy.
Pancakes & Policy brings local, state, regional and federal policy leaders to the Chamber to discuss issues that affect Fayette County. Held three times a year, the April event focuses on accomplishments of the Georgia General Assembly. The August event focuses on federal policy issues and the November event provides local updates from County and municipal leaders. All Chamber members are invited to attend.
Leadership Fayette provides existing and emerging leaders with opportunities to enhance their civic knowledge of Fayette County, hone their leadership skills and network with community leaders. Participants will better understand how their community works and be inspired to use their talents to serve the community. Leadership Fayette is an eight month program.
