On the Job Training Program:
The On-the-Job Training (OJT) program provides reimbursements to employers to help compensate for the costs associated with skills upgrade training and loss of production for newly hired employees. OJT can assist employers who are looking to expand their business and need additional staff trained with specialized skills. OJT employers may receive reimbursement of 50% of the wage rate of OJT trainees during the eligible training period to help defray personnel training costs.

Incumbent Worker Training:
The Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) program is designed to improve the skills of employees and the competitiveness of an employer. It is intended to retain skilled employees or avert a potential layoff. IWT may be offered to employers who, after assessment, are found to need training for existing employees in order to remain competitive. Classroom or work-based learning may be provided through an educational provider of the employer’s choice.
